Established in 1936, the Tulla Pipe Band celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, marking nine decades of musical excellence, tradition, and community spirit. Renowned throughout County Clare and beyond, the band has proudly represented its community at parades, festivals, competitions, and cultural events, preserving the rich heritage of Irish pipe band music while inspiring generations of musicians.
As part of this year’s Feakle Festival celebrations, the Tulla Pipe Band’s remarkable contribution will be honoured with a special parade through the village of Feakle. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy the stirring sound of the pipes and drums as the band marches through the streets before performing at the Open Air Concert, making this anniversary celebration a memorable highlight of the festival programme.
The Ox Mountain Band is a West of Ireland quartet from Mayo and Sligo who blend an eccentric mix of old and new traditional and contemporary music. Siobhan O’Donnell on vocals and bodhrán is an All-Ireland champion and highly sought after teacher, from a family steeped in music and song, she brings a wealth of traditional songs learned from her father and mixes them with contemporary and folk classics. Brothers David and Patrick Doocey on guitar and fiddle are originally from Boston, now living in Mayo and have stamped their mark on the scene over the past 10 years performing with some of the top artists including Lunasa, Sean Keane, Sharon Shannon, Téada and many more. Stephen Doherty is a multi-instrumentalist from Foxford, playing flute, accordion and whistles. Stephen has toured over 25 countries and performs regularly with The Sean Keane Band as well as appearing on national television.
