To open this year’s Feakle Festival, Sorcha Costello, a native fiddle player from Tulla, East Clare has undertaken a deep-dive into the archival material relating to her locality in the Irish Traditional Music Archive. In reflection of her time spent researching this unique material, Sorcha has composed new music with respect to the East Clare tradition while also challenging boundaries and incorporating contemporary influence. On the night, Sorcha will present some rare and unique material from the archive combined with live performances of both old and new tunes from both herself and other local musicians.
