Seamus & Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta with Ryan Molloy

Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta, siblings from Connemara, join acclaimed pianist and composer Ryan Molloy to create a captivating blend of sean-nós singing, multi-instrumental talent, and inventive arrangements. Together, they bring a contemporary edge to traditional Irish music while keeping the language and heritage of the Gaeltacht central to their sound.

Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta are a brother and sister duo from Connemara, celebrated for their sean-nós singing and inventive arrangements of Irish and English songs. Growing up immersed in the Gaeltacht’s musical traditions, they share a unique family vocal blend that brings intimacy and depth to their performances. Their 2022 Late Late Show rendition of Anach Cuain went viral, and they have appeared on Other Voices and TG4’s Fleadh TV. Both are accomplished multi-instrumentalists and have won multiple All-Ireland and provincial awards. They are the recipients of the RTÉ Folk Award for Best Emerging Artists 2024.

Ryan Molloy is an internationally acclaimed pianist and composer, known for his innovative arrangements and deep understanding of traditional Irish music. He was named TG4 Gradam Ceoil 2024 Composer of the Year in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field. Ryan has performed on stages across four continents, captivating audiences with his artistry. His masterful accompaniment adds depth and nuance to the evocative singing of Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta.

 

Martin Hayes & Steve Cooney

Martin Hayes and Steve Cooney are two towering figures in Irish music, renowned for their innovative artistry and deep influence on the tradition. Together, they combine soulful interpretation with groundbreaking accompaniment, shaping the sound of contemporary Irish music.

Martin Hayes, one of Ireland’s most revered fiddle players, is celebrated for his deeply expressive style rooted in the East Clare tradition. A native of Maghera and son of P.J. Hayes of the Tulla Céilí Band, Martin has captivated audiences worldwide through collaborations with Dennis Cahill, The Gloaming, Tríur, The Common Ground Ensemble, and leading musicians across classical, folk, and contemporary genres, including Bill Frisell and Ricky Skaggs, and has shared the stage with Sting and Paul Simon. He has contributed music to dance, theatre, film, and television, and has been recognized with numerous awards including TG4 Gradam Ceol Musician of the Year, the Spirit of Ireland Award from the Irish Arts Center NY, and the RTE Folk Instrumentalist of the Year.

Steve Cooney, born in Melbourne in 1953, revolutionized Irish guitar accompaniment with a style developed in West Kerry, earning a National Entertainment Award with Séamus Begley in 1997. A prolific musician, producer, and poet, he has participated in over 250 recordings, fusing Irish traditional music with rock, country, and other genres. He recently released Ceol Ársa Cláirsí: Tunes of the Irish Harpers for Solo Guitar and continues to explore fusion projects with his band Éiníní. In 2020, he received the RTÉ Folk Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, cementing his legacy as one of Irish music’s most influential figures.
