Sorcha Costello, Dermot Byrne & Tim Edey

Sorcha Costello, Dermot Byrne, and Tim Edey are each celebrated figures in the realm of traditional Irish music. Sorcha Costello, a fiddle virtuoso from Tulla, County Clare, was honored as the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Young Musician of the Year in 2021. Her debut solo album, The Primrose Lass, released in June 2023, showcases her deep roots in the East Clare style and earned her nominations for ‘Best Folk Instrumentalist’ and ‘Best Emerging Artist’ at the 2023 RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards. Dermot Byrne, hailing from Donegal, is renowned for his mastery of the button accordion and melodeon. A former member of Altan, his collaborations extend to artists like Sharon Shannon, Frankie Gavin, and the late jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli. In recognition of his contributions to traditional Irish music, Byrne was awarded TG4’s Traditional Musician of the Year in 2013. Tim Edey, an Anglo-Irish multi-instrumentalist, is acclaimed for his prowess on the guitar and button accordion. His collaborations span from The Chieftains and Sharon Shannon to Christy Moore, Seamus Begley and Mary Black.
