
Máirín Fahy & Patsy Broderick
Growing up in East Galway, an area renowned for its unique style of traditional music, Máirín from Ballinakill and Patsy from Kilreekil have been playing music together since childhood. As members of the All Ireland winning Junior Ballinakill Céili Band, they were influenced by the music of Aggie Whyte, Bridie Whyte (Fahy), Eddie Maloney and Fr. P.J.Kelly to name but a few.
Whilst living in Dublin, Máirín and Patsy joined in the vibrant traditional music session scene and were members of the all female group Macalla in the 80’s who recently celebrated a significant anniversary with a sell out concert
during Dublin TradFest.’25. They have both pursued very successful individual music careers..Máirín with Reeltime and soloist with Riverdance and the Chieftains and currently with Trad on the Prom and Patsy as a member of Gaelforce, Arcady and the Senior All Ireland winning Shannon Vale Ceili Band.
Máirín and Patsy were delighted to get back to their roots in East Galway, recording the wonderful compositions of Fr. P.J. Kelly .
